Career Area of the Week:
How about an INTERIOR DESIGNER? INTERIOR DESIGNERS plan the space and furnish the interiors of offices, hotels, hospitals, stores, restaurants and other places. They talk to clients to determine their taste, needs and budget. They then develop designs and prepare drawings and specifications for interior construction, furnishings, lighting and finishes. They coordinate colors and select furniture, floor and wall coverings and window treatments. They also design lighting, crown molding, built-in bookshelves or cabinets. To qualify for licensure, candidates must complete at least 2 years of post-secondary education in design, at least 2 years of practical experience, plus related education or experience to total at least 6 years of combined education.

Get your smiles ready! Friday is School Picture Day! You’ll want portraits to trade with your friends and parents will want some too! So, please don’t forget to bring your order envelope and money on picture day. Everyone will be photographed for school records, so be sure to dress nicely! Don’t be left out! Remember, Friday is School Picture Day!
Due to trash left in the cafeteria on Friday, students will have assigned seating for breakfast on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week!
There will be a Circle of Friends activity on Thursday, October 29th. Use your pass to come to lunch at 10:50 am… and a fun activity in Mrs. Borst’s classroom in E10. Circle of Friends membership is now closed. Only those who came to the last activity may attend. See you there!
There will be a Circle of Friends field trip on Monday, November 2nd. We are going to Singletree Stables to ride horses. If you are already a member of COF, come by E10 to pick up your field trip form this week.
Fuel up to Play will meet Tuesday, October 27th during lunch in E11.
NAL will meet Tuesday, October 27th after school in E11.
STUCO will meet Wednesday, October 28th during lunch in E11.
United Way- Red Ribbon week. Each activity will cost $1 to participate:
o Throughout the week, there will be jars to vote for the cutest and ugliest baby staff pictures. Students and staff vote by placing money in the jars. If you want to make sure you get the cutest baby, and then stuff the ugly baby jar of the others.
o Monday: Pajama Day
o Tuesday: Hat Day
o Wednesday: Dress like your favorite character (cartoon-book, movie, etc)
o Thursday: Crazy Hair Day
o Friday: Powder Puff Floor Hockey (afternoon)
The volleyball team, cross country and chess teams will also be recognized at that time
o Also, there will be a sign up for 8th grade girls who would like to play hockey and 8th grade boys who are willing to be cheerleaders. We already have five boys who are willing! There will need to be a limit of 30 girls and 20 boys.
o 8th graders sign up in E11 or at the school store in the mornings.
IF WE CAN RAISE $1,000.00, MR. ARCHIBEQUE HAS AGREED TO DRESS AS MACHO ELVIS FOR A DAY!

An umbrella or parasol is a canopy designed to protect against precipitation or sunlight. The term parasol usually refers to an item designed to protect from the sun, and umbrella refers to a device more suited to protect from rain.
