How about a MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN? MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIANS test, install, inspect, adjust, service, repair and maintain biomedical equipment used in healthcare. Equipment includes heat-lung machines, electrocardiographs, ventilators, patient monitors, x-ray machines, pacemakers, dialysis machines and defibrillators. Employers require MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIANS to have a two-year associate or a certificate from an approved and accredited vocational/technical school. Many 2-year colleges offer programs leading to an associate degree in electronics.

Congratulations to the Pleasant Valley Chess Team who placed at the State Championships. Cameron VanBaal medaled at 21st place in the State. Hanah Huber took 42nd, Marleah Mullen took 47th, Hannah Londagin took 52nd and Katherine Bergman took 67th! Way to go!

Congratulations to our music students (20 soloist and 5 ensembles) who participated in the Solo and Ensemble Festival on Saturday, March 6th at West High School. Students earned a rating (from a I thru a V with the I rating being the highest award). Seven soloists and one woodwind received I ratings and blue ribbons! We are filled with Royal Pride because all our music students earned ribbons for their fine performance!

There will be no school Friday, March 12th thru Friday, March 19th due to Spring Break. Students will return to school Monday, March 22nd. Enjoy your break!

Be sure to come and show your support for the girls and boys basketball teams as they play their last basketball game. They will be playing Allison. The cost is $1 and there will be a D/F list.

Employers prefer to hire FLIGHT ATTENDANTS who have several years of college or experience in dealing with the public. Increasingly, new flight attendant hire are college graduates.

Due to the Fuel Up to Play grant, PVMS will be receiving three tether-ball units in the play area in the near future. Don’t forget to sun in and track your progress on line to be eligible for the Wii and the computer notebook to be given away.

Swiss inventor George de Mestral came up with the idea for Velcro in the early 1940s. After returning from a walk with his dog, he noticed that the dog's coat and his pants were covered with cockleburrs. de Mestral studied the burrs under a microscope and discovered their natural hook-like shape. They became the basis for the two-sided fastener, named for the French words "velour" and "crochet."
